No one on their deathbed wished they spent more time in a startup

by on

Game Over - did you play?Pollenizer is a startup (4.5 years old) that runs startups and recently we’ve been talking about work / life balance.

Someone in our team relayed the quote “No one on their deathbed wished they spent more time in the office?” It’s something I’ve heard and repeated many times before. But, I decided to stop and have a think about it.

What do people on their deathbed wish? Travel, activities, adventure, risk, new things – they often regret the things they didn’t do.

It made me think that maybe people don’t wish they spent more time in a boring office in a job they hate doing something they find uninspiring for a company they don’t believe in.

BUT

Maybe they do wish they spent time working in a buzzing office, in a job they are passionate about doing something they love for a company that might just change the world.

Therefore, maybe people on their deathbed do regret not taking a risk, taking a leap of faith, going for it, trying it and running a startup.
